Welcome to Blue Dog Knifeworks

We hope you find the knife you are looking for on our website. If you don't see exactly what you're after, please do contact us to discuss that perfect knife for you. Please also get in touch with any other questions or queries. 

Outlined below are the terms and conditions that we will work to including legal requirements for the sale of knives in the UK, By placing an order with us you are agreeing to these terms, please get in touch if there is anything you wish to clarify or for a paper copy.


Legal Requirements
  1. In the UK it is an offence to sell a knife to anyone under the age under 18. Therefore we request that this adhered to by buyers, however as an added protection we will be asking for proof after all orders have been placed. We will get in touch through the contact details you provide for a copy of your driving license or similar as a proof of age. Once received your order will be started, any document will be kept securely along with the rest of your details.
  2. All personal details are kept secure here at Blue Dog Knifeworks in line with UK law and are only used for the purposes of completing your order and will never be shared with any other parties. 

Completing Orders
  1. All knives are completely hand made to order and as such have an estimated 10-12 week lead time, this may be extended when the materials you order are not in stock although this is usually only a week or so. Although depending on the order and requirements we reserve the right to take longer to ensure the knife produced is to the best quality possible.
  2. For any knife ordered through the website, we will contact you within 2 working days to confirm receipt of the order, collect proof of age and outline the next steps. Alternatively please get in contact directly and we can design a knife with you.
Payments and Postage
  1. The price shown on the webpage is for the basic model of knife with certain scale options, any extra prices are outlined next to the option, to account for the increased material prices.
  2. We usually ask for a 50% payment on order and a 50% payment on completion for pieces ordered directly alternatively full payment can be made when ordering through the website. Currently we are unable to accept deposits through the website so please get in touch to order directly for this option or to discuss other payment options suited to you.
  3. Post is an extra £8 which covers Royal Mail Special Delivery which is a full traceable service and should be received by you next day. 
Cancellations
  1.  If after placing an order for a catalogue piece you then decided to cancel the order and have only paid deposit, 50% of the deposit will be refunded and the other 50% kept as a restocking fee. If you have paid full price then 75% will be refunded with the remaining 25% kept as a restocking fee. The restocking will cover any cost of materials and the resale of the knife.
  2. If after placing an order for a bespoke piece which we would struggle to resell, you then decide to cancel the order and have only paid deposit, then this deposit is non-refundable due to the increased materials cost. If you have paid full price then 50% will be refunded with the remaining 50% kept to cover material costs. 
  3. All buyers need to take care to ensure their contact details remain up to date as this is what we will use to make contact with you when your knife is ready. In the event of a customer not being contactable we will keep the knife and keep trying to contact you for a period of 3 months from the knifes completion. After this date, we will sell the knife as a ready made piece to recoup our costs.

What You Can Expect From Us
  1. Communication and updates about how your knife is progressing as well as any changes to the estimated completion. You can also message us through the website or Facebook to request an update. 
  2. Each knife is completely handmade therefore no two will be the same.
